Who I Am

"Laughter is the best medicine." I totally and wholeheartedly appreciate that statement. No matter where I have been on my journey, humor has been a constant in my life and it has provided me with a way to lighten up stressful situations. From raising teenagers to learning anatomy in my 50s, if I didn't find humor in my life, I might have to take up exercise and nobody wants that.

I love books and will hit up every library book sale in my area. I am an artist and love fancy lettering and mandalas. I love animals and little kids bring a big smile to my face. I hate to cook but love to eat. I can be a little snarky but never in a mean way. My favorite vacation took me to Pompeii and to the top of Mt. Vesuvius. I was born and raised in San Diego, California. Ask me how I wound up in Connecticut. I didn't understand how people could rave on about their dogs - until I got one.

My journey as a healer started in 2011 when I became a Reiki practitioner to help me manage the pain of Trigeminal Neuralgia, considered to be one of the most painful afflictions known to medical practice. I started to help others deal with stress and pain with Reiki and noticed my intuition really opened up doing this work. I am consistently working on my own healing. My life experiences have given me an understanding about emotional  and physical pain, finding my source of peace and releasing fears that kept me from moving forward in my life. It's a process and it is never complete. I don't have all the answers, let's be clear on that. I am not a psychologist or any sort of mental health professional. I have a compassionate heart and want to help you move toward inner peace.

To bring another level of healing to my practice, I graduated from massage therapy school which was nothing like I expected. I figured I would just be taught how to massage, but that was only a part of the education. We had to take classes in pathology, pharmacology, kinesiology, anatomy and physiology, and eastern theory, It was hard but I also worked my tail off to get good grades and I'm proud of my accomplishment!  I believe what my clients like most about the massage or healing they receive from me is the connection and calm, peaceful way I do my work and the humor I bring to the table so you feel comfortable. Enjoy your visit.

My practice is located within the Massage & Reiki Center of Glastonbury, at the rear of the New England Holistic Healthcare building.
