Whether your grief is from the loss of a loved one, a cherished pet, a job, divorce, miscarriage or even moving away from family and friends, you can feel the physical manifestation of pain. Tightness in your muscles, or feeling like your heart is literally going to break into pieces. Such loss can trigger your body to protect itself and unfortunately, that can cause physical pain on top of the pain you are already experiencing emotionally. One of the things you may miss the most is the touch of a loved one. A hand to hold, a hug. All humans need gentle kindness and touch in order to thrive.
Tightening up is an unconscious response to fear, and consumes huge amounts of energy and leaves a person feeling exhausted. Healing takes time and effort and often requires looking at parts of ourselves that we deny and may in its earlier stages actually intensify feelings of dis-ease before resolution occurs.
I will work with you at whatever stage you are in to help you get through your grieving process, no matter how long you need, encouraging and supporting you in the process of clarifying your own highest ideal.
Massage therapy and Reiki are the cornerstones of my healing practice. Both are designed to provide you with compassion, a sympathetic ear and a safe place for you to experience any of the emotions that may come up during a session.
In my experience as a hospice volunteer, where my focus was on the patient, I always felt a need to reach out to the family or caregivers who were going through a different kind of death. I never had a single person turn down a Reiki session or shoulder massage. When most of the attention goes to the patient, it was very emotional for them to be seen and allowed to show their feelings.
I understand grief. Having lost my own mother when she was 56 and my sister when she was 46, I know it takes time. Your time, not anyone else’s opinion of when you should move forward.
This is not talk-therapy and I encourage you to seek out a mental-health professional if you want a more guided experience. I am here to give you comfort and healing through heartfelt touch and creative, artistic expresion..

You don’t need to be grieving to experience massage or Reiki. If you need a way to help your body find relief from stress or anxiety, I offer 60, 75 and 90-minute sessions or a 90-minute combination of massage and Reiki.
